Google Sync Beta for iPhone and Windows Mobile Phones

Get ready for Google’s New Mobile application "Google Sync Beta" that synchronizes your personal and gmail contact with Google.

Announcement from Google on Monday : Launch of it’s new mobile web service i.e Google Sync. This application is in beta version and is compatible with iPhone and Windows Mobile phones. Google Sync synchronizes Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar events across the Web, computers, and mobile devices.

Google’s web 2.0 competitor Microsoft said that: Google Sync was made possible by a license from Microsoft, and this is true cause the push technology in Google Sync, available in beta for the iPhone, Windows Mobile, and other phones, is licensed from Microsoft.

Views of an engineer from Google Mobile: "For iPhone and Windows Mobile devices, Google Sync allows you to get your Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar events to your phone, Once you set up Sync on your phone, it will automatically begin synchronizing your address book and calendar in the background, over-the-air, so you can attend to other tasks. Sync uses push technology so any changes or additions to your calendar or contacts are reflected on your device in minutes. The connection is always on so you don’t have to manually sync your phone after Sync has been set up." Source says.

Google Sync is available for:

  • Apple iPhone
  • BlackBerry
  • Nokia S60
  • Nokia standard
  • Sony Ericsson
  • Windows Mobile

This is Google’s another step in mobile technology after their Gphone. As beta software, Google Sync has a list of known issues, but it belongs to Google, and everyone including me trust Google, and have hope that the small issues will be resolved quickly.
