Track IPhone Traffic with Google analytics

2 comments

Apple Iphones (Smartphones) are most popular these days for Internet Browsing.
Google has introduced a smart way in Google Analytics program to see the amount of traffic coming to your site/blog from Iphones by adding a new section to “Default segments”.

Iphone Traffic Stats in Google Analytics

This tracking function is also conjugated to Google Adwords to see how many clicks have been generated to your ads from iPhones.

How this data going to help you? I bet you are thinking so?

Well the answer is quite simple.
As you know that Internet Browsing from Smart Phones is becoming popular. You should consider this if you’re getting an enormous amount of traffic from iphones and then check your website’s template, content, images etc, whether they are IPhone Platform friendly or not.
Since the launch of iPhone 3g in July, 2008, many popular blogs and websites like VentureBeat.Com are receiving traffic similar to their normal web traffic from iPhone. So you can see how the iPhone trend is growing.

Hence it is recommended to consider your traffic report and make changes in your website’s design to create an iPhone platform friendly design. This will decrease your bounce rate also.

Change Fonts of Google Adsense Ads

2 comments

Wow! Now Google is giving the freedom to change your Ads fonts in three faces: Arial, times, and Verdana. This new feature is now available in the entire Publisher's account, but the ads can be placed only on the webpage having Latin-based characters.

Customize the appearance of your ad's font in the following ways..

  1. Go to the Manage ads under Adsense setup tab, in your existing ad unit, Click on the Edit ad Settings under heading Actions. You'll find new "Fonts" Option there as shown below. Now make the changing in your font face.

2. There is also another way with which you can change the font for all the ad units on different websites. Go to My Account Tab, edit the Ad Display Preference. You can change your ad's font value there as shown below.

This modification will be beneficial for the publishers having Latin-based characters on their web pages.

Welcome “Yahoo!” to the world of “twitter”

0 comments

"Hello" to the world of twitter from Yahoo. Yahoo got inspired by top 40 brands including General Motors, Honda and Ford and decided to be on Twitter on 10th Feb’09. Nicki Dugan, on Yahoo corps Blog shared that they got 200 followers just after five hours being on Twitter. They have a wonderful Twitter page background which reflects the brand power of Yahoo. Now you can also follow Yahoo on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/yahoo

Yahoo might aim to buy Twitter in the same way as they did with Flickr in past days. Tried the Facebook but not successful, now I think Yahoo will as Yahoo is powered by $$.

Blogger Introduces a New monetize tab

4 comments

Today I found a new "monetizing function" under the layout tab in my blogger Account.

blogger_monetize_tab It has three distinct ad placement positions and Google considers them quite helpful for you in monetizing your blog better. And you know? These positions are really helpful. Let’s use and experience yourself.

  1. The first category places your Ad on right sidebar and just below your post.
  2. Choosing the second category, it will put your ad on the right sidebar only.
  3. The third and last category will position your ad below the post only.

All the above defined positions are the visitor's eye-catching positions and will really help you a lot. But still I recommend you to keep experimenting your ads placement, as a short and positive change could yield you big results.

Good Luck!

Tips to Prevent Adsense Account by getting banned

2 comments

Google Adsense Tips

The Adsense Guidelines and TOS is the good way to prevent adsense account from getting banned. But, unfortunately, most of the people don't read them. It took only one single step against their policy which results in account termination.
According to Labnol, Google terminated the account of PR7 website, few months ago, which belongs to Robin Hood, who writes on the popular MasterNewMedia blog. The reason of this ban was, Robin sells text links on his website. He is even an Adsense Premium Publisher. But after some appeals he got the account later. So you can see that nobody is safe if he is going against the Adsense Policies. So here are few tips for you to follow in order to prevent your Adsense account.

Invalid Clicks - Never Click on Your Ads.

Never ever click on your own ads, if you found an ad that is interesting to you just right click on the ad, click on properties, evolve out the advertiser’s URL and go through the URL.

Invalid Page Impressions - Never reload your pages excessively

Never reload your website pages excessively as it creates an invalid impression that could ban your account. If you want to change the layout of your page and need to confirm the right positions for your ads, then add this <google_adtest = "on"> to your ad script.

example:

<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-your pub id";
/* 300x300, created 12/12/08 */
google_ad_slot = "87654321";
google_ad_width = 300;
google_ad_height = 300;
google_adtest = "on";
//-->
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>

Don’t display ads on copyrighted content, banned keywords, email, Pop up box and with Google Logo

If you are using copyrighted content, article etc. on your site, then be sure to take the permission from the content owner, if he allows you then it's Ok or else remove his content from your website. The content owner may file complaint against your website to Google Adsense and then your account can be banned. Displaying Google trademarks where you shouldn't use also lead to account ban.

Excessive profanity,Violence, racial intolerance, or advocate against any individual, group, or organization.
Hacking/cracking content
Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
Pornography, adult, or mature content
Gambling or casino-related content
Excessive advertising
Any other content that promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others

Use Google Adsense Allowed Site Tool

Adsense Allowed Site

Your competitor can display your ads on banned site, so you must take some precautions, use Allowed Site Feature and feed the addresses of your website only. If some one places your ads on other website your ad will still be displayed but impressions and clicks will not be recorded.

Don’t disclose your CTR, Clicks, And Impressions Data

Displaying clicks, CTR, eCPM etc. publicly may lead to account ban. So be cautious.

Don’t Encourage your visitors to click the ads

Don't encourage your visitors to click on your ad. Using words like click it, support, visit our sponsor, near the ads can also ban your Adsense account.

Always send an email to Google if you have any confusion

Whenever you have any query or confusion write out an email to Adsense Team, they will not ban your account for asking but they may ban if you not ask them.

It is recommended to take the above precautions to prevent your Adsense account from getting ban.

Good Luck! Make more money.

Google search secret

3 comments

What do you do to find out exactly what you want on internet?

I am having some ideas about that:-

  1. You try to search your stuff with number of different keywords on Search Engine.
  2. Change Search Engine and repeat the above step.

But sometimes you get disappointed with the results. If you are a Google Search Expert then, this might be a trick that you already know.

G2P (Google to Person) Beta helps you to find your stuff easily with the help of Google.

With this free tool, you can search for exactly what you are looking for, like MP3Music, Music Album, E-books, Software, Ring tones and Prox-if on Google. G2P uses some crafty Google searches to help locate open directories or otherwise shared files. This tool is also helpful to Google Search Experts as it saves them a lot of time.

In their own language: What does G2P do?
-G2P (Google to Person) uses some crafty Google searches to help locate open directories or otherwise shared files. These searches are nothing secret (In fact, take a look at the results, so you can see how it is done. However, it is much easier to remember g2p.org than these complex searches. Really I put this site together to make it easier on me, and then shared it with you.

Google Power Meter Will Help users in cutting the electricity bills

1 comments
The future belongs to Google, one of an example regarding its usage is that it would help you in cutting down your electricity bills. Google makes it possible by demonstrating Google Power Meter to it's users.

Google Inc. in Los Angeles recently said that their software technology will help it's users to track their home's energy usage. Great Technology! it will not only help users in lowering their electricity bills but also helps in reducing Global Warming effects that are caused due to production of electricity.

How this service will work?

The modus of operandi of Goggle’s Software Technology would be to track your power consumption and also track which device is consuming more or less. This will give you an idea about the device's power consumption so that you can easily decide which device needs switching.

As this project is related to lowering the environmental issues, google knows it very well, that they will get more push support from Government. Google Power Meter is currently being tested by employees and is not yet available to the public. The service hasn't even entered in beta status.

In my opinion Google takes care of the environment, as the company had already invested in several fledging solar power, wind power and geothermal power companies, this proves their care about environment.

The company is also planning to develop partnership with other companies so as to roll out their PowerMeter with in next few months.
Google wants to be a part of the smart grid action and their step would help many people including environment to reach safely in limit. It is a technology to count on in future.

According to Google,there are 40 million smart meters in use worldwide, with another 100 million planned in the next few years. *says source.

Lets start saving energy and be Energy efficient with Google Power Meter.

Get ready for Google's New Mobile application "Google Sync Beta" that synchronizes your personal and gmail contact with Google.

Announcement from Google on Monday : Launch of it's new mobile web service i.e Google Sync. This application is in beta version and is compatible with iPhone and Windows Mobile phones. Google Sync synchronizes Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar events across the Web, computers, and mobile devices.

Google's web 2.0 competitor Microsoft said that: Google Sync was made possible by a license from Microsoft, and this is true cause the push technology in Google Sync, available in beta for the iPhone, Windows Mobile, and other phones, is licensed from Microsoft.

Views of an engineer from Google Mobile: "For iPhone and Windows Mobile devices, Google Sync allows you to get your Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar events to your phone, Once you set up Sync on your phone, it will automatically begin synchronizing your address book and calendar in the background, over-the-air, so you can attend to other tasks. Sync uses push technology so any changes or additions to your calendar or contacts are reflected on your device in minutes. The connection is always on so you don't have to manually sync your phone after Sync has been set up." Source says.

Google Sync is available for:
  • Apple iPhone
  • BlackBerry
  • Nokia S60
  • Nokia standard
  • Sony Ericsson
  • Windows Mobile

This is Google's another step in mobile technology after their Gphone. As beta software, Google Sync has a list of known issues, but it belongs to Google, and everyone including me trust Google, and have hope that the small issues will be resolved quickly.

India has revealed a shocking plan, that is to produce laptops that would cost only $10 or 500 INR approx. The main aim of this plan is to improve the skills of millions of students across the country. These laptops will be mass-produced as part of a government-sponsored education scheme launched last week.
cheaper_laptop

The notebooks are currently under testing and will release commercially withthin next six months confirms "Higher Education Secretary R.P. Agrawal".

The notebooks has basic configuration with a 2GB memory and wireless Internet capability(Wi-Fi) and more information yet to be revealed.

The government aims to involve more students in higher education and give them the technological skills which helps in boosting India's economic growth.

New Delhi rebuffed a previous attempt to bring cheap laptops to India, led by MIT computer scientist Nicholas Negroponte's One Laptop Per Child programme.

Now i would really like to buy this $10 laptop. It's really feel good having a PC that is cheaper than a mobile phone and all my costly gadgets. You can also gift it to your little sister or brother or you litlle son or daughter or anyone.

Lets wait till it's Launch.

Yes, it is possible, you can get back your files which you have deleted from recycle bin or directly deleted from within Windows. Thanks to Restoration File Undelete Utility tool, which makes this possible.

This freeware program is small and standalone, it does not require installation and can also run from a Floppy disk. What's more? You can also recover your data which you have lost from your flash cards and drives.
