Points to remember while using twitter as business tool

Twitter as a business tool Twitter is an excellent tool to which lets you update among 1000’s of people following you. It’s being widely used as one of the most successful marketing tool.

Here are few things that you should remember while using Twitter as a business tool. But keep in mind that your that you have to socialize also don’t use it for the business purpose alone.

  • Update your profile – Keep your profile updated and current with any new developments or projects currently in the works. This helps your customers understand where you are going as a business and it also makes them aware of any changes you have planned.
  • Stay professional – While it may be fun to get into a heated debate over who will win the Kentucky Derby, keep your tweeting business oriented. It is not a bad thing to express your opinion every once in a while, but do make sure that it falls directly in line with the mission statement and operating procedures of the company under whose name you are tweeting. If you are a sole proprietor, obviously you have the decision making power here, but if you are in business with others, develop a policy for how individuals will tweet.
  • Be personal – People like to know they are talking with actual people. In this age where digital voices prompting our actions are standard, people find great delight in the ability to communicate with intelligent human people who can actually listen and respond rather than deal with canned impersonal messages that don't meet their individual needs and desires.
  • Give to get – Do not, I repeat, do not, just spam your followers with announcements of new products or websites for them to look at. Converse with them, answer their questions and ask them exactly what they are looking for. Once again, be human and socialize with them. It is ok to interact with your customer online the same way you interact in a face to face meeting, just keep it professional.
  • Use tracking devices – Implement the use of hashtags and other tracking devices as searchable references for your customers. This makes it easy for them to follow you and your business developments. The easier it is to follow you and what you are doing, the better chance you have they will actually do it. Let your customers know when you have initiated a new search term and what those terms mean to them. Your business is about helping the customer get to your product as easy as possible. Hashtags are a great tool to help this happen.
  • Make their life easy – While conversing with your prospects, make sure to ask if there is anything they believe your business can do to improve - and then listen. Customer feedback is one of the most valuable tools to a business. What better way to get feedback than online when you are already in conversation with them? You can develop customer loyalty simply through listening to and responding to their opinions.

The biggest mistake I was making on Twitter is tweeting only like a deaf machine. What i used to do is I was tweeting like this “Google announced RSS ads - link:” I was never replying to @messages. Don’t be a machine like I was, whose work is to post and post only, check your replies and messages, respond to questions and be human. Business is build with strong relation so don’t forget about it.

Twitter in process of moving in a new direction

Twitter has a new page with much more attraction than the old one. Twitter is in process of moving in a new direction and the new home page is one of the big step of it.

New One

Comparing the old homepage to the new homepage sheds an enormous amount of light on Twitter’s ambitions with its microblogging platform.

Old One:

Here’s the old description text:

“Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?”

And here’s the new text:

“Share and discover what’s happening right now, anywhere in the world”

Twitter has not yet completely changed with the new evidence. Here is the example to prove it. You’ll see the session page (displayed after wrong username, password entered) same as the old one.

Two Ways to get 10k Visitors Per Day

10,000 Visitors a Day Traffic plays a key role in a success of a website or a blog. How much you are best whatever best you have written in your blog, that doesn’t matter if your site in not getting in any traffic. We all always struggle to get some good traffic. Well today I’m discussing two ways to build decent traffic. But yes, I would suggest you to not to use them till you have some good number of post or users.

The first way I'm going to share with you is by using uSocial.net to generate paid social bookmarking votes on sites like Digg to increase your rankings. It's cheap, extremely fast and you have the potential to get much more than just 10,000 visitors in a day. It would be beneficial for you if you don’t have good social media reputation (means friends & followers).

Digg First Page With a site like uSocial you can buy Diggs, increase your twitter followers, -- for example -- and if you receive a front-page listing on the site you'll receive a massive influx of traffic to your site, in some cases as many as 100,000 or more in a day.

Another way to get huge traffic to your website is viral marketing. Viral Marketing is a marketing technique used to build the public awareness of ones product or company. They use many forms of media to reach out to the public without actually promoting the product by riding on in other forms of addictive means that could get a person hooked and be obliged or amused to actually pass it on, with the product or company advertisement along with it.

If people like the content of a media they will pass it on to their friends and family. They sponsor the certain media, such as a cool flash game, funny video, amusing story and such, which one may pass on to others with the company brand or logo or the products description to help promote the company or its product.

Many big companies have tried viral marketing and have had success stories with it. A classic example is Microsoft's Hotmail. They were the first known big company to utilize the scheme and it has worked wonders for them.

It would be wonderful to aware the audience about your site but you need to polish your site before awaring them about it. I mean reasonable amount of post for blogs and users for networking site. My blog’s example is best fitting for the reason.

Bad Comments Tricks that you Shouldn’t Do

photo-comment Commenting on blogs is a good way to build relations and brand yourself in the crowd. This also brings you some good traffic. But it also leaves an impression on the blog’s author & the followers readers. A wise comment is always appreciated. Majority of the people clicks to know about the personality who has shared such a valuable information on the others platform and this make them your permanent reader. So leave your impression with a good remark or point.

Here are few common mistakes of the commenters experienced by Ramkarthik which you shouldn’t follow:

1. Keyword/Blog Name as Your Name

If you are a regular commentator on few big blogs, you would have noticed that few people comment using a keyword. When you use a keyword as a name when you comment, you will get a bad impression in the author’s mind and also in the minds of few of the blog’s readers. Use you own name when commenting on other blogs.

2. One Word Comment:

I always use to think why people post reply in one word. You would have seen comments like “Nice”, “Great Post” etc. These comments provide no value to the post. At least expand your comment a little. The author knows that the blog post is nice. If not, he/she wouldn’t have posted it. Make a bigger comment even if it is not adding any information to the post.

3. Adding Your Blog’s URL At The End:

Every blogger will see you as a spammer when you post your blog URL at the end of your without adding any information to the post. You should provide URL’s only if it is highly necessary or you can use the field provided for it.

4. Making Comments Without Reading The Post:

You might be surprised to see this, but indeed there are few who does this. I have experienced it myself. To prove it, you just make a post with a Title not related to the post. You might get one or two commentators posting comments related to the title. This normally happens when you have the Top Commentators Plugin installed. People read the title and make a comment which is related to it and not to the blog post.

5. Commenting Continuously And Then Stopping Once You Have Reached The Top Commentators:

I have experienced this one also in my blog. I get 5 comments in a row and once the commentator’s name comes to the Top Commentators, he/she will leave the blog. They won’t make any more comments. Commenting continuously is not a bag thing. But commenting to the Top Commentators and then stopping it once you have reached there is a dumb act.

6. Commenting By Other Blogger’s Name And URL:

This one is a known issue which I saw in Kumiko’s blog. It is surprising to see people using other people’s URL and Name when commenting. What is the use yo you when you do like that? You only give the author of the blog, one minute happiness because when he/she sees the comment, they will surely get happy.

7. Using Other People’s Avatar:

In few blogs, you can see the avatar by the side of the name. Few people steal other blogger’s avatar and make comments. The avatar that appears will be the same as the one which you use in MyBlogLog. So few people steal other’s avatars and few people steal others’ blog in MyBlogLog too.
